Pet ownership is inherently social, but today’s tools are fragmented.
The Mess: Pet ownership is inherently social, yet the digital experience is a mess. Owners are stuck juggling numerous messaging applications for playdates, Google Maps for finding parks, and clunky legacy sites or phone calls for booking vets and groomers.
The Vision: Fragmentation creates friction. When the tools are scattered, community-building stops. Sniffr was born from a simple question: What if the entire pet journey lived in one high-energy, trusted space?

Product Strategy: Unifying the Ecosystem
I focused on four core pillars to consolidate the pet owner's "job to be done":
Gamified Discovery (The "Buddy" Swipe): Borrowing the low-friction "Match!" mechanic to help owners find compatible playmates without the social anxiety of cold-approaching strangers at the park.
The Social Ledger: A community-driven events hub where "spots" aren't just pins, but living hubs for interaction.
Seamless Booking: Eliminating the "middle-man" fatigue by integrating service booking directly into the social flow.
The "Command Centre": One thread to rule them all. By unifying playdate chats and service confirmations into a single, high-energy inbox, we kill the need for multiple platforms.
Design Direction: Neobrutalist UI
The Vibe: Fun, Loud, Trustworthy. Neobrutalism was the natural fit for an app built around the unfiltered, joyful energy of dogs and the communities they create. The colour palette centres on vibrant yellow, chosen not just for its energy but for its function — yellow falls within the limited colour spectrum that dogs can perceive, grounding the aesthetic in the world of the animal itself.
High Contrast: For readability while outdoors/on the move.
Raw Shapes: To evoke play and community, moving away from "corporate tech" aesthetics, signalling spontaneity.
Bold Typography: Makes information hierarchy impossible to miss, even at a glance for distracted owners mid-walk.
